David Sanchez, Mario Lomeli, Aaron Perez, Jose Ramos and Hector Vasquez
John is the heart of King City Glass. He has been with the compnay since June of 1975, purchasing the company in 1981 from his parents, Jean and Jim Jernigan, who started the company in 1949.
John was born in King City. After graduating from King City High School in 1971 he moved to Salinas and later Chico. While in Chico John worked for American Glass as an auto glass installer. He is a certified Master Auto Glass Technician with more than 30 years of experience.
John's father, Jim, focused on auto glass repair, but John had more interest in residential and commercial glass. He returned to King City Glass in 1975 and has been working in South County for more than 30 years.
John and Karen live on Mildred Avenue just around the corner from King City Glass. John and Karen have two children--daughter Melissa, age 22, living in New York City and son Brandon, a junior at Cal Poly, SLO.
John's sister, Suzanne Krause, and her husband Chuck run the True Value Hardware store next door to King City True Value
Karen has worked for King City Glass for more than 20 years as a partner and controller.
Karen's duties involve overseeing all the accounting, advertising, and personnel at King City Glass
Karen was born in Artesia in Southern California. She attended Trinity High School in Weaverville and graduated from California State University, Fresno with a degree in journalism. She came to work in King City in 1977 as a news reporter for the Rustler until she joined her husband, John, at King City Glass in March of 1981.
Her sister, Cindy, and husband, Steve Bacon, also own a glass business, Dick's Rancho Glass, in Sacramento. Her brother Roger works for Lake Glass in Bozeman, Montana. I guess you could say glass is in the family.
Karen is the daughter of Herb and Virginia Vanderwall of Lewiston, California. She and John have two children--Melissa, age 22, who lives in New York City and Brandon, age 19, a sophomore at Cal Poly University, San Luis Obispo.
Hector started with our company in 1995 when he was just out of high school and trained as an Auto Glass installer. He left our company for a few years to work for other companies and then returned in October of 2000 as a glazing apprentice.
We have been amazed at Hector's ability to learn the glass trade. He's our main man for service work in all of South County. He can handle the replacements of insulated window units, shower doors, mirrors, screens and broken windows.
Hector was born in King City and grew up here. He and his wife Monique have three daughters--Nadine, Nicole and Natalie. He is the son of Hector Sr. and Maria Vasquez of King City.
Hector is known for the professional way he treats customers and cleans up after a job. You can recognize him in his King City Glass service van.
Mario is our Certified Auto Glass Installer. Mario started with the company in January of 1996.
He has become one of the best auto glass installers in Monterey County, having experience with all makes and models of vehicles including years of experience installing windshields and doing chip repairs. He also works on replacement glass for farm equipment and commercial equipment.
Mario was born in Los Angeles. He grew up in King City. Mario and his wife, Angelica, live in King City. They have a daughter named Desiree, age 1. He is the son of Maria Castro.
David started working for King City Glass in January of 1998 and today works as our shop fabricator. He adds a wealth of experience to our staff.
David grew up in the glass business. His father, Juan Sanchez, owned and operated Sanchez Glass in Greenfield and Hayward during the 1980's. He is knowledgeable in fabrication of storefronts for businesses and shower door installations.
David was born in Hayward, California and grew up around California. He lives in Greenfield. He is the father of Marisol Sanchez, age 11 and Little David age 3. His parents are Juan and Gloria Sanchez of Madera.
